Education

Hello! I grew up in Tennessee, and graduated from Cumberland County High with Honors. I graduated from Tennessee Technological University, with a BS in Special Education. I received my Early Childhood Certificate from Armstrong State University, and a Master's in Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University.

Experience

I started my career in Bryan County, Georgia, as a Learning Disabled teacher for Richmond Hill High School. I found that I was better suited to serve elementary school students. I started Itinerant teaching Inclusion Special Education at Island Elementary/May Howard Elementary in the Fall of 1994. In Fall of 1995, I taught Itinerant between Islands and Spencer Elementary. I resigned in 1998, to raise my son and daughter. I started, Trinity United Methodist Preschool in 2000, for 2,3, and 4 year olds, so I could socialize and be near my own kids during their toddler years. I went back to public school teaching in 2008, as an Inclusion teacher at Bloomingdale Elementary, in Bloomingdale, Georgia. I taught Pre-K students for 2 years at Bloomingdale. I then taught 3rd grade, and EIP at West Chatham Elementary. I got the opportunity to come into Royal Live Oaks Academy the first year, teaching 2nd Grade. I had an AWSOME group of students! It is so good to see them excel in school over these last 6 years. I started teaching Special Education here, the second year. I have taught Inclusion to Self-Contained. I love my job, and I love to see the kids grow and become more independent!
