Education

I am originally from Chicago Illinois. I graduated from Lindblom High School and received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Chicago State University. My initial teaching assignments were both in Humboldt Tenn., for a year and one half and then upon returning to Chicago 6 1/2years in the Chicago public schools.  I left teaching and pursued other careers including receiving a diploma in interior design from the Harrington Institute in Chicago. I returned to teaching 13 years ago and received a Masters of Eduation from Walden University. My area of concentration was Middle Level Mathematics. 



Experience

During my 13 year return to education,My first reentry to teaching was in Clayton County outside of Atlanta. I moved to Bluffton in 2005 and was assigned to Robert Smalls MIddle School in Beaufort. I also spent 1 year at Whale Branch Elementary as a Master teacher. I have been involved in special Summer school classes for rising 9th graders at Battery Creek High School, as well as Extended learning teacher at my home school Robert Smalls.  I served as team leader,TAPP mentor teacher,and after school coordinator. I retired from Beaufort County Public Schools 2 years ago. My first year of retirement was spent as a District mentor teacher for induction teachers at River Ridge Academy in Bluffton and remediation/behavior assistant at Whale Branch Middle. I joined the Staff here last year as a middle school math interventionist.
