Notes From Instructor

 

The goal for this course is to prepare students for success in high school/college and to acquire knowledge and skills in Math which they can use and apply in their daily undertakings. The subject covers varied topics which will enhance their thinking and problem-solving skills. We will be using the Glencoe Math (Your Common Core Edition) textbook and the Glencoe Math Connects textbook and workbook as reference materials.

Using Technology Successfully:

 

You must make prior arrangements with me, the principal and your parents or guardians prior to bringing any electronic devices into the classroom. Tablet/laptop use is acceptable if and only if:

- The principal approves your device use request

- Your parent/guardian signs a release form exempting the school and I from device security

- You have a means to submit your class notes and all related work completed on the tablet daily

- Your device is free of materials deemed inappropriate by school policy or local/federal law

Redemption Opportunities:

Under some circumstances, you can redo assignments that you fail. It is important to note that:

- the highest grade you can have for a make-up is 80%

 

Portfolios (Binders) or Notebooks:

Your 1 inch 3-ring  binder must be perfectly maintained. It will be checked every last Friday of each Month. Your binder should be set us as follows:
